Surveillance, Privacy and the New Congress Further Reading List
Yesterday I presented at Data Center World Global Conference 2015 in Las Vegas.  If you were in attendance I mentioned a reading list being posted that would provide more background insight on the topic of my presentation: Surveillance, Privacy and the New Congress.Â
If you weren’t able to attend, here is a summary from Data Center World:
The NSA revelations have forever changed the way the world views privacy. Data center professionals must now take into consideration the reality that businesses and consumers may not trust the privacy and security of Internet transactions, particularly those that take place outside their jurisdiction. In this highly informative session, you will learn: the basic laws that underlay the PRISM matter, and how they do not differ materially from laws in many other countries; changes that may be pending in the U.S. and in trade negotiations that affect how national security issues are treated; how to create strategies to create legal confidence in data sharing across borders; and upcoming Congressional action related to data privacy and security that may affect your business. At the end of this presentation, you will have baseline information sufficient for you to address questions presented by customers, and will receive actionable advice allowing you to effectively understand how privacy and security may be impacted in the next Congress.
You can also download my Data Center World presentation here. If a video becomes available I will update this post with that as well.
